It was baptized in 2005 , laid down on July 12, 2002 , accepted into the structure of the submarine forces of the US Navy on September 9, 2006 .
In October 2009, when traveling from a base in New London to its new home port, Pearl Harbor ( Hawaii ) [1], “Texas” surfaced in the immediate vicinity of the North Pole. [2] Becoming the first submarine in its class involved in the Arctic. [1] On the surface, the Texas remained 24 hours. [1] According to The Globe and Mail, the Virginia submarines are not adapted for operations in the Arctic waters and the Texas has been preadapted. [one]
In the summer of 2011, she called at the South Korean port of Pusan . What caused the angry reaction of the DPRK and was regarded as "another provocation against the people's republic." [3]
