Career
James became the true flagship of Asian snooker in the late 1980s, when at the age of 16 he defeated several professional world champions and won the Camus Thailand Masters tournament . He hit the main tour in 1989 after winning the amateur world championship in 1988. Wattana's career reached its peak already in the mid-90s, when he became the owner of three rating titles, another 6 finalist (including the final of the unrated, but very prestigious Masters ) and took 3rd place in the world ranking . He twice entered the 1/2 World Cup : in 1993 and 1997, and was one of the most serial snooker players of his time, having made three maximums , which only three players managed besides him. His snooker became a real sensation, since until then the English-speaking players completely and completely dominated the game. At the beginning of the new century, Wattana's vibrant game began to fade, but after a while the amount of prize money he earned exceeded £ 1 million. According to the results of the 2007/08 season, he failed to score enough points to maintain his residence registration on the main tour and dropped out of it, but so far none of the non-European snooker players can beat the records of the famous Thai. In fact, thanks to James, Asian professionals such as Marco Fu and Ding Junhui appeared .
Wattana returned to the main tour in the 2009/10 season, and his best achievement this season was to reach the final stage of the China Open , where he lost to Mark King in the 16th [3] .
With interruptions in some seasons, she performs to the present.
