The International Manga Prize or International Manga Award ( Jap. 国際 漫画 賞 ) is an award established on May 22, 2007 [2] to encourage non-Japanese manga authors. The award was first proposed by Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso , in his political speech in the Akihabara area in 2006 [3] [4] . The award work is assisted by the Japanese Manga Writers Association. [five]

2007
The selection work for the first prize was the selection committee, which included Mangak Matiko Satonaka, Yanase Takashi, Tiba Tetsuya, and the chief editors of famous Japanese comic magazines. The award ceremony was held in Tokyo on July 2, 2007.
