Biography
Evgenia Mendelevna (Emmanuilovna) Azarh was born in Riga in the family of Emmanuil Borisovich Azarh (1866 - after 1935) and Hai Ruvimovna Azarh (1868 - after 1935) [3] [4] . Her sister Fani Mendelevna (Emanuilovna) Azarh-Babin (1898—?) Was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in prison in 1920, brother Alexander (1895-1938) was shot in Astrakhan on October 29, 1938 [5] [6] .
In 1921 she graduated from the acting department of the Theater Institute in Petrograd. In the 1920s played in the Youth Theater and the Book Theater in Petrograd . Since the 1930s played in the Kiev theater of Russian drama named after Lesya Ukrainka , was a leading actress of this theater. Actress of the A. Dovzhenko Film Studio (Kiev).
The actress was buried in the Baykovsky cemetery in Kiev.
