Chubut ( Spanish and wall. Chubut ) is a province in southern Argentina , located between 42 and 46 southern parallels in the Chubut River Basin [1] . In the north, the province borders with the province of Rio Negro , in the south with the province of Santa Cruz , in the east the province is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean , from the west of the province - the Andes mountains that separate it from Chile .

Etymology
The name of the province comes from the name of the Chubut River. And its name, in turn, comes from the word chupat in the language of the people of Teuel ( Spanish: Tehuelche ) meaning "transparent."

Population
The largest city in the province, an industrial center and a seaport is Comodoro Rivadavia (200 thousand people). In the 19-20 centuries. the city grew due to immigrants from Croatia, Wales, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania and other European countries. In the 21st century, population growth is due to immigrants from Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, as well as immigrants from the capital region and northern provinces.
In Chubut lives one of the largest Welsh communities , about 50 thousand people. They founded the administrative center of the province of Rawson .
In the Sarmiento area, descendants of immigrants from South Africa living compactly - Boers ( Afrikaners ) [2] [3] .
Economics
The main sectors of the economy are oil and natural gas production [1] . In addition, the province has developed sheep husbandry.
Transport
Along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean is the highway . Ruta Nacional 3 . The cities of the province are connected by bus.
