History
The history of the Winemaker conditionally begins in 1838 . Then the gardener and entrepreneur Wilhelm Gottlieb Christer founded the company “Garden and Seed Farm“ V. Christer “ . ” After 4-5 decades, the economy grew and covered an area of about 128 acres and about 5 million seedlings [1] .
In 1907, Isaac Ivanovich Bekas draws up a lease of 16 plots of land (a total of 17 acres ) from the City Council on the Windy Mountains for grape cultivation. It is Bekas who owns the name "Vinogradar" [1] .
Since 1915, the population of this area is gradually growing. On the site of the Vinogradar in 1935, a settlement was founded under the same name, planted with vineyards, and later the collective farm Vinogradar. In 1960, this farm became part of the Pushcha Voditsa collective farm [1] .
The array was built up in 1975 - 1987 [2] . The architect of the housing estate was Bilsky E.A.
During the years of World War II , during the liberation of Kiev from the Germans, fierce battles took place on the territory of Vinogradar and neighboring Pushcha-Voditsa . German tank units attacked and were able to encircle part of the forces of the 136th and 240th rifle divisions, as well as a number of units of the 7th Guards Tank Corps, on the night of November 4–5, 1943. After 12 hours, the enemy retreated due to the deteriorating general situation for him [3] [4] .
Before the administrative reform of 2001, Vinogradar was administratively part of the Shevchenkovsky district . Currently, Vinogradar administratively belongs to the Podolsky district of the city, which often serves as a cause for curiosities related to the media: unprofessional journalists mistake him for part of Podil [5] , one of the central areas of Kiev. Often this error penetrates even into the headings, the compilers of which, however, can consciously neglect the reliability .
