Medal "For Valor" is a departmental medal of the Federal Service for Railway Troops of the Russian Federation , established by order of the Federal Service for the Defense of the Russian Federation No. 127 of April 10, 2001 .

In connection with the abolition of the FSJV of Russia on March 9, 2004 and the entry of railway troops into the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation , the award of this medal was discontinued.
Content
Award Rules
According to the Regulation, the medal “For Valor” was awarded to:
- military personnel of the railway troops of the Russian Federation for their great contribution to the development of the railway troops, successes in maintaining high combat readiness of units, units and formations, for excellent performance in combat training and other services during military service;
- civilian personnel of military units, research institutions, enterprises, organizations and military educational institutions of vocational education of the railway troops for outstanding work successes, high production indicators,
Merits in the development of science, technology and culture, a great personal contribution to the training and education of personnel;
- in some cases, other citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens who have made a significant contribution to solving the tasks assigned to the railway troops.
The medal consisted of two degrees:
- I degree - for rewarding military personnel;
- II degree - for rewarding civilian personnel.
Wear Rules
The medal is worn on the left side of the chest and, in the presence of other awards of the Russian Federation and the railway troops, is located after the medal “For Distinction in Service” in the railway troops of the Russian Federation and before the jubilee medal “150 years to the railway forces of Russia” .
Medal Description
The medal is connected with an ear and a ring to a pentagonal block covered with moire ribbon.
