Analyst (programming language)

Analyst is a programming language developed in 1968 at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR under the leadership of Academician Viktor Mikhailovich Glushkov . It is a development of the ALMIR-65 language, while maintaining compatibility with it.

A distinctive feature of the language is abstract data types, calculations in arbitrary algebras, and analytical transformations.

It was implemented on MIR-2 machines.

Later, a version of Analyst-74 was developed, implemented on MIR-3 machines.

At the moment, the language ANALYTIC exists in the form of a computer algebra system ANALYTIC-2010, which is being developed jointly by the Institute of Problems of Mathematical Machines and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Poltava National Technical University named after Yuriy Kondratyuk.

This approach made it possible to use a 45-key keyboard on data preparation and input devices.
