Genesi started as a small company, bringing together people who have been working in the computer industry for many years. The goal was to create a new open computer platform that would allow the use of thousands of pieces of software written for AmigaOS , as well as for any other open operating systems.

The corporation supports two teams collaborating with each other: one is developing an operating system, and the other is developing hardware. The bPlan company is engaged in the production of motherboards.

The compatibility problem with AmigaOS was solved by writing our own operating system, MorphOS , which not only allows any system software for AmigaOS to run, but also continues the glorious traditions of this operating system. MorphOS - an operating system with preemptive multitasking, which implements the most innovative solutions in the field of OS development, combining modern design with scalability; its further development is an important task of Genesi.

In parallel with the development of the OS, the hardware is developing. The company's first development was called Pegasos . It was created on the basis of the CHRP standard for motherboards, and the PowerPC ™ family was chosen as the processor . Since Open Firmware was flashed in the BIOS of the board, support for many OSs became possible. Currently, the corporation sells Pegasos II computers (personal computer), Communication System (home media center), ODW (Open Desktop Workstation), OSW (Open Server Workstation), High Destiny Blade (Blade version of Open Server) and Efika (lightweight Embedded-Pegasos option). Computers use various PowerPC ™ processors (from G3 to G5 inclusive) brought to a separate processor board (which greatly facilitates the upgrade). The corporation offers complete solutions that fully satisfy customer needs. In addition to MorphOS , the user is also free to use such OSs as: Debian , Gentoo , CRUX , Open SuSE , Fedora Core , OpenSolaris , SkoleLinux , MontaVista , YellowDog and QNX . An interesting point is the use of the Pegasos version of the Mac-on-Linux package that allows you to natively (without losing performance on emulation) execute Mac OS X and applications written for it.
