He was born in a Czech and Swiss family in Moscow , but after the October Revolution , when Eugene was 2 years old, the family emigrated to Geneva . Valasek performed in Servette , Urania , and Young Boys . He made his debut in the national team in 1937 in a game with Austria , when he had not yet been granted Swiss citizenship. At the 1938 World Cup, Walaszek scored a goal against the German national team .

After his career, Valasek worked as an economist in the financial department of Geneva and coached the Etole Sporting club at the same time . About Valaszek, the film directed by Paul Klee "Valaszek's Dream" was shot. Evgeny Valashek was until recently the only live footballer of the Swiss national team of 1938.
