Union of Ukrainian Students in Germany

The Union of Ukrainian Students in Germany ( German: Bund Ukrainischer Studenten in Deutschland , BUSD ; Ukrainian Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Students at Nimechchinі , SUSN ) is an organization of Ukrainian students and graduate students studying in higher educational institutions in Germany .

The main functions of the organization are to represent and protect the interests of Ukrainian students, disseminate information about Ukraine and popularize Ukrainian culture in Germany. SUSN has more than 180 members in 19 cities of Germany.

History

The organization was established in Bonn in 1949. In 1952, the location of the governing bodies of the organization was moved to Munich . Since 2004, SUSN has been revived by Ukrainian students of a new generation and is now actively functioning and developing.

Activities

SUSN supports the democratization of Ukraine. In this regard, members of the organization were independent observers in the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2004 and 2006. SUSN organizes monthly round tables devoted to Ukraine in Berlin and Munich. [1] SUSN holds regular presentations of Ukrainian culture as part of international festivals throughout Germany. The organization also provides information and organizational support for concerts of Ukrainian musicians in Germany. SUSN maintains contacts with the Ukrainian diaspora and other Ukrainian organizations in Germany and Europe. [2]
