The Medal “For Differences in Emergency Situations Elimination” is a departmental medal of the EMERCOM of Russia , established by order of the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation No. 552 of July 18, 2005 . In the system of departmental awards, EMERCOM of Russia occupies the second position, located after the insignia - the Cross "For valor" .

Awarding Rules
According to the current Regulations, the medal "For Distinction in the Elimination of the Consequences of an Emergency Situation" is awarded to soldiers of the civil defense forces, soldiers and employees of the State Fire Service, employees of the EMERCOM of Russia system for:
- difference, courage and dedication shown in the performance of tasks to eliminate the consequences of an emergency situation in conditions involving a risk to life;
- skillful, proactive and decisive actions that contributed to the successful implementation of emergency response measures;
- successful management of actions of subordinates in the performance of emergency response tasks.
Medal Description
The Medal of the EMERCOM of Russia “For Distinction in Emergency Response” is [1] a silver-colored circle with a diameter of 32 mm with a convex side on both sides.
On the front side there is an image of a figured cross, in the center of which there is a small emblem of the EMERCOM of Russia ( “Star of Hope” ). Along the circle in one row is inscribed with the letters "FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN THE ELIMINATION OF EFFECTS OF EMERGENCY SITUATION".
On the reverse side - the inscription “EMERCOM OF RUSSIA” is printed in two rows. Under the inscription crossed laurel branches.
All images and inscriptions are made in relief .
The medal with the aid of the ear and the ring is connected with a pentagonal pad, covered with silk moire ribbon . Tape of orange color 24 mm wide. In the center of the ribbon there is a blue stripe 8 mm wide. A medal pad with a pin is attached to the garment.
Additional awards to the rewarded
According to the Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On Veterans” and subordinate acts adopted for its development, awarding the medal “For Distinction in Elimination of the Consequences of an Emergency Situation” with the appropriate seniority or years of service gives the right to award the title of “ veteran of labor ” [2] .
Borrowing used in the design of the medal
- The ribbon of the medal “For distinction in emergency response” exactly repeats the ribbon of the Soviet medal “For the capture of Budapest” . The author of the tape is the artist A. I. Kuznetsov (1945).
