Montenegro Ground Forces

The ground forces of Montenegro is one of the types of armed forces of Montenegro . They were formed in 2006 after the declaration of independence of Montenegro and secession from the federation with Serbia .

Currently, the ground forces of Montenegro are in the process of reform.

Since 2018, the ex-commander of the ground forces Brigadier General Dragutin Dakić ( Montenegrin. Brigadni general Dragutin Dakić ) has headed the General Staff of the Montenegrin Armed Forces. [one]

Structure

Ground forces (unlike the Navy and Air Force) are not allocated to a separate organizational unit. They are based on the Ground Forces Brigade ( Montenegrin. Brigada kopnene vojske ).

Equipment and weapons

Of the 62 T-55 tanks that Montenegro inherited from the Yugoslav army , after gaining independence, 61 tanks were destroyed in 2007 to reduce military spending, as morally obsolete . The only remaining tank is preserved exclusively as a museum exhibit [2] .
