Career
Gaming
Ricardo Sa Pinto began his career at Salgeeiros , then in 1994 he moved to Sporting , with whom he won the championship and two Portuguese Cups. In 1997, Sa Pinto moved to Real Sociedad , but after three seasons he returned to Sporting, for which he played until the summer of 2006. The last club of Sa Pinto was the Belgian “ Standard ”, where he completed his professional career as a football player [2] .
Coaching
On February 13, 2012, he was appointed to the post of head coach of the Lisbon Sporting club, replacing Domingos Paciensia in this post. Under his leadership, the Lisbon reached the semifinals of the Europa League , reached the finals of the Portuguese Cup and took fourth place in the national championship [3] . But already in October 2012, the coach was dismissed due to unsatisfactory results [4] .
Then he became the head coach of the Red Star [5] . At the end of the season, in which the Belgrade club failed to win the championship title from Partizan , it was assumed that the coach would continue his work with the team [6] . However, the Portuguese did not agree with the club management on a new contract and left his post [7] . The Portuguese coach worked with the Belgrade club for only 100 days.
On December 15, 2015, he left the post of Belenensish head coach after a guest defeat from Akademika 3-4 [8] .
In June 2017, he headed the Belgian Standard [9] .
