Luba (empire)

Map of precolonial states of Africa.

Luba is a public entity that existed on the Upbeba lowland on the territory of modern DR Congo in 1585-1889. The supreme power belonged to the Mulahwe, who ruled the country through the advice of the nobility. Luba fell into decay as a result of civil strife, involvement in the slave trade and the raids of neighboring tribes.
