Story

The cartoon takes place in May 1944 . Second World War . At a secret base near London , special training pigeons are super- pigeons from the Royal Pigeon Service. They are being prepared for a secret mission in the rear of the Nazi army, where they will be confronted by the experienced and merciless falcons from the Gestapo (mistakenly called hawks in Russian).

The film begins with the fact that three pigeons from the "E" squad did not return from the assignment. Two of them were killed, and the squad leader, Mercury, was captured by falcon-general von Clawham and his followers - Wunderling and Puffling.

Young pigeon Valiant dreams of becoming one of the fighters. He, along with the stinky pigeon Bugsy, is included in the F squad, which also includes the aristocratic dove Tadeus IV Loftington and the twin brothers Silach and Lovkach. Under the leadership of Commander Gatsi, they are thrown over the front line into occupied France. There they pick up a secret report (data that prompted the Americans to choose the Normandy coast for landing). The falcons are trying to stop them. Despite everything, they together deliver a report to the headquarters, and General von Claw suffers a final defeat from Valiant's wings in the water mill.

Valiant and his friends are declared heroes and awarded with medals by Maria Dikin - the highest award to the animal for courage and devotion to service, after which they arrange a holiday in the local bar of West Nastington, where Valiant reunites with the dove-nurse Victoria.

The ending reads as follows: “ During World War II, animals saved thousands of lives. The highest animal reward for courage is the Dickin Medal. Of the 54 medals for exploits in the war, 18 received dogs, 3 - horses, 1 - a cat, and 32 - pigeons ”

Cartoon Story

During World War II, the use of carrier pigeons was one way of communicating in the UK. But the Axis forces destroyed part of the pigeons with the help of trained birds of prey. Such stories formed the basis of this animated cartoon. The cartoon also shows very well the time of war itself, worked out in detail. For example, in the trenches near the bunker there are MG-42 machine guns, and in a tank driving along a city street in France, you can easily recognize the German tank destroyer YagdPanthera . The very outfit of pigeons is similar to the uniform of the Royal Air Force pilots during the war. Only Valiant wears a landing helmet, not a flight.
