Mike is a novel by P. G. Wodehouse , published September 15, 1909, by London-based Adam & Charles Black . Prior to this, the novel was printed in two parts, with a continuation in the magazine The Captain . The first part was called “Jackson Junior”: in 1953 she was re-released under the title “Mike at Wrykyn”. The second part, under the (magazine) name “The Lost Lambs” in 1935, was released as “Enter Psmith”, and in 1953, as “Mike and Psmith” [1] .

Main characters
- Michael (Mike) Jackson is the protagonist of the novel: a 15-year-old schoolboy, a rising cricket star. He enters the prestigious Rikin school, from where he is then transferred to the provincial Sedley, where the main events of the novel unfold.
- Bob Jackson is Mike's older brother graduating from high school.
- Trevor and Clowes are Bob's friends, Rickin students, cricketers.
- Gazeka (Ferby-Smith) is the head of the class with whom Mike has problems from the very beginning.
- James Wyatt is Mike's roommate, stepson of the school principal.
- Burgess is the captain of the Rickin cricket school team.
- Neville Smith, a student at Rickin School: fixes a “party” at home, due to which Mike’s problems in Rickin are exacerbated.
- Rupert Psmith is Mike's saddle mate, showing a penchant for grandiose maxims. Transferred here from Eaton. It turns out to be an excellent cricketer.
- Mr. Outwood is a charming and good-natured class leader in which Mike studies.
- Spiller is a boy whom Psmith and Mike are evicting from the room in order to settle in it themselves.
- Tom Jellico is a funny kid from the Outwood class. Involuntarily involves Mike in a serious adventure.
- Mr. Deining is an extremely unpopular leader of an adjacent class, investigating, like Sherlock Holmes , the mystery of mysterious night accidents, as a result of which the school was raised by a false fire alarm and his terrier turned out to be painted red. Mike suspects, who is saved by the crafty intrigues of Psmith and an incredible combination of circumstances.
- Dunster is a graduate of Sedley, the famous joker and bully. It turns out that he painted the dog with red paint.
