Basmanovo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Glinkovsky district . The population is 24 inhabitants ( 2007 ) [1] . It is located in the central part of the region 14 km north-east of the village of Glinka , 16 km south of the P134 Stara Smolenskaya road, Smolensk - Dorogobuzh - Vyazma - Zubtsov , 14 km west of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway. At 16 km south of the village, the railway station is the 524th km on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line . It is part of the Romodanovsky rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler troops in July 1941 , liberated during the Yelninsky-Dorogobuzh operation in 1943 .
