Jerzy Wujczyk ( Polish: Jerzy Wójcik ; September 12, 1930 , Nowy Sacz - April 3, 2019 , Warsaw ) is a Polish cameraman, screenwriter and director.

Biography
Jerzy Wujczyk is the son of an officer of the 1st regiment of the Podhalyan Sagittarius , Major Andrzej Wujczyk. In early September 1939, together with his mother and brother Marian, he was evacuated to Lviv , and then returned to Nowy Sacz. After the war, the Wujicik family lived in Boguszów in the Sudeten Mountains .
He graduated from the State Higher School of Cinema, Television and the Leon Schiller Theater in Lodz ( 1955 ). In 1956, he began working at the KADR film studio. He received his diploma in 1964. In 1956 he worked as the second cameraman under the direction of Jerzy Lipman during the filming of the film “ Channel ” by Andrzej Wajda . He made his debut in 1958 as an independent cinematographer in the film " Eroika " by Andrzej Munch . He collaborated with the greatest masters of the Polish school , in the 1960s he worked with Yugoslav filmmakers.
He shot two films as a director (one of them - “The Gates of Europe” , 1999 - was nominated for the International Film Festival in Cairo ). He staged several theatrical performances. He taught cinematography at the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Higher School of Cinema in Lodz. In 2006, he published an essay and memoirs book “The Labyrinth of Light” , in 2017 the book “The Art of the Film” .
