Space Flight
From April 17 to May 3, 1998 he made a space flight as a payload specialist in the crew of the Columbia shuttle under the STS-90 mission program.
The mission’s main payload is the Neurolab lab. The main experiment is the adaptation of the cardiovascular system to zero gravity.
In flight, Bucky performed 26 medical experiments to study the effects of microgravity on the human brain and nervous activity, in which the remaining crew members acted as objects of study.
The flight duration was 15 days 21 hours 49 minutes 59 seconds.
Political Activities
In 2008, Jay Clark Bucky ran as a Democratic candidate in the US Senate election from New Hampshire . The main idea of the program is the transition to a new energy industry that is independent of petroleum products. Withdrew in favor of another Democratic candidate, Gene Sheikhin .
Research in Antarctica
In 2018, Bucky participated in research at the Marson Australian Antarctic station using virtual reality . The expedition members used virtual reality headsets to view Australian beaches, landscapes of European nature, North American nature, forests and the urban environment. The study was conducted to develop methods of psychological support for participants in future long space expeditions - in particular, Martian ones. [one]
