Characteristics

HR 753 consists of three stars, respectively: HR 753 A , HR 753 B and HR 753 C. Star A is visible to the naked eye, component B was discovered in the twentieth century by the Dutch astronomer Adrian van Maanen , and the third component C - only in 1994 .

HR 753 A

The star is an orange-red dwarf of the main sequence , belonging to the spectral class K3 V. It has 81% of the solar mass, 85% of its diameter, and only 21% of its luminosity.

HR 753 B

HR 753 V is a red dwarf of the spectral class M3,5 Vn, also has another name - BX Kit . The star has one thousandth luminosity of the Sun, 21% of its mass and 28% of its diameter. Researchers note that HR 753 B has abnormally low chromospheric and coronal activity [1] .

HR 753 C

Extremely dim and cold red dwarf HR 753 C of the spectral class M7 V has a mass equal to 8.2% of the solar [2] . In addition, the star is not much larger than the size of Jupiter . The habitable zone in this system is extremely small, and therefore HR 753 C is not of interest for the search for extraterrestrial life.
