The village is located on the southwestern slopes of the Kuramin Range , its name comes from the adraspan plant ( common harmonica or burial ground).

The village was founded on March 26, 1941, as a settlement for geologists searching for minerals (the main area of geological exploration is uranium ore). By the decree of GKO 7102 ss / s dated December 8, 1944, the People's Commissariat of Agriculture was obliged no later than January 1, 1945 to transfer to the NKVD of the USSR uranium mines and deposits of uranium ores, among which was Adrasman [1] . On January 6, 1945, the People's Commissar L.P. Beria signed an order of the NKVD No. 007 “On measures to ensure the development, mining and processing of uranium ores”, according to which the General Directorate of the camps of mining and metallurgical enterprises of the NKVD was entrusted, inter alia, with the exploration of the Adrasman uranium deposit, mining and processing of uranium ores from it, construction and operation of mines and concentration plants at the deposit, as well as the construction and operation of plants for the processing of uranium ores and concentrates. [2] With the implementation of this order, the village began to be built.

The main budget-forming enterprises of the village were [3] :

  • The Adrasman Mining and Processing Plant (which ceased operations after the collapse of the USSR and resumed mining and processing of ores after the privatization of Kazinvest-Mineral on July 17, 2006), which specializes in the extraction of lead ore and its processing at the processing plant to produce lead-silver concentrate [ four]
  • Adrasmansky factory of low-voltage equipment, producing lighting and low-voltage equipment.
