History
The club was founded by a group of young people who played football at the San Isidro Catholic School in Las Piedras. On December 24, 1935, they were going to play football, but they were forbidden to do this at the local site, as the priests were preparing for the meeting of Christmas . In protest, students gathered in the city square of Las Piedras and announced that they were creating a new football club. The first president was one of the assembled Carlos Maria Cabrera. His father was engaged in the textile business, owned the ILDU factory. Therefore, the team had no problems with the game form. The team received its first name in honor of this factory - the Ilda Club [1] .
In 1946 , when many of the team's players had already become reputable entrepreneurs or scientists, it was decided to change the team name to “Juventud Sports Club from Las Piedras". The name “Huventud” is translated as “Youth”, which once again emphasized the history of the club. Officially, the name changed on June 6, 1947 [1] .
On November 5, 1995 , after many attempts, Huventud finally got the right to play in the Second Professional Division of the Uruguay Championship. Four years later, on November 6, 1999, Huventud won the Second Division, becoming the first non-Montevideo team to win the title. Huventud received the right to play in the main division of Uruguayan football, Example. The team stayed in the elite until 2003 .
In the 2009/10 season, the team played in the First Division of the Uruguayan Championship. At that time, it was only one of three teams that did not represent the capital of the state, the city of Montevideo .
