Content
Geography
It is located in the extreme northeast of the region, 4 km from the border with the Trans-Baikal Territory , 13 km north of the federal highway P258 Irkutsk - Chita , in the upper Tugnui valley , at the foot of the Tsagan-Daban ridge . The distance to the district center, the village of Mukhorshibir is 69 km.

Economics
- The main city-forming enterprise - OAO Tugnuisky Open-pit Mine ( SUEK ) - specializes in open-pit mining of coal . It is the largest coal mining enterprise in Buryatia.
