Michael Connelly (born July 21, 1956 , in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American writer, author of detective novels about detective Harry Bosch, working in the Los Angeles Police Department. Connelly's novels have been translated into 24 languages of the world, and a series of novels about Harry Bosch has been published with a circulation of 7 million copies.

Biography
Michael Connelly decided to become a detective writer, fascinated by the novels of Raymond Chandler while studying at the University of Florida . This passion played a role in the choice of career guidance in journalism - Michael became a criminal reporter.
Since 1980, Connelly worked in the Dayton Beach and Fort Lauderdale newspapers in Florida. When his article about the survivors of the Delta Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles won the Pulitzer Prize , Michael was invited to work at the Los Angeles Times .
Published in 1992, the first book of Connelly's "Black Echo" won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for the best first novel of an American writer . The book was based on real events and became the first in a series of papers on Los Angeles police officer Harry Bosch. In addition to this series, Connelly published several books with other protagonists, such as lawyer Mickey Holler and journalist Jack McEvoy. Often, Harry Bosch appears in those books where other heroes play a major role.
A number of his novels are filmed. She lives with her family in Florida. Michael Connelly received ten prestigious awards in the field of action literature. In addition to the Edgar Poe Prize, the writer's works also received awards: Anthony, Nero Wolfe, Macavity, Dilys, Maltese Falcon (Japan), 38 Caliber (France), and the Grand Prix of the French detective story. He was president of the Association of Detective Writers USA.
