Biography
Father is Dane, mother is Peruvian .
She took her first steps in the modeling business when she was 9 years old. In childhood, she dreamed of becoming a musician. In 1986 , having received the title of " Miss Denmark " at the age of 18, she represented Denmark at the " Miss Universe " competition. After the end of the competition, she moved to Paris , and later to New York , USA .
Career
One of the most recognizable models of the 1990s, participated in shows of such brands as Alberta Ferretti , Chanel , Christian Lacroix , CoverGirl , DKNY , Fendi , Gianni Versace Couture , Hennes , Hermès , Karl Lagerfeld , Prada , Sonia Rykiel , Yves Saint Laurent , Christian Dior , Givenchy , Nina Ricci , Vivienne Westwood , Alexander McQueen , Jean Paul Gaultier , Lanvin , Balmain , Yohji Yamamoto , Armani , Roberto Cavalli , Gianfranco Ferrè , Marc Jacobs , Donna Karan , Ralph Lauren , Oscar de la Renta Kors , Calvin Klein and Valentino .
She appeared on the covers of such well-known magazines as Elle , Cosmopolitan , Marie Claire , Vogue , Maxim , Harper's Bazaar and Allure . She was also one of Victoria's Secret Angels and appeared in the directories of this company. In 1994, Helena became one of the stars of the legendary Pirelli calendar , authored that year by the American photographer Herb Ritts.
In 1991, she starred in the music video for Chris Isaac's Wicked Game . This video was later listed on the Sexiest Video of All-Time on MTV and the 100 Greatest Videos on VH1 .
Helena owns an antique store in Manhattan , New York . He also launches the Christensen & Sigersen clothing line, along with his longtime friend Leaf Sigersen, which is sold in a boutique in New York. Christensen is also a photographer, and her work has appeared in Marie Claire and ELLE .
Personal life
- In the 1990s, she met with Leonardo DiCaprio , who is 6 years younger than Helena.
- Christensen met with INXS leader Michael Hutchens .
- She has a son, Mingus Lucien Reedus, who was born on October 13, 1999. His father is the American actor Norman Reedus , whom she met for 5 years, but in the end they broke up.
- Since 2008, she met with the leader of the American group Interpol Paul Banks [1] .
