Andrei Khakimovich Abduvaliev (born June 30, 1966 , Leningrad ) is a Soviet , Tajik and Uzbek athlete , Honored Master of Sports . 1992 Olympic champion in hammer throw . Two - time world champion ( 1993 , 1995 ). Personal record - 83.46 m ( 1990 ).

After completing his sports career in 2000, he worked as Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan, head coach of the national athletics team.

He played for Dynamo Dushanbe.
