Boris Ivanovich Tishchenko ( March 23, 1939 , Leningrad - December 9, 2010 , St. Petersburg) is a Soviet and Russian composer . People's Artist of the RSFSR (1987).

Biography
Born March 23, 1939 in Leningrad . In 1957 he graduated from the Music College at the LGK named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov , a student of G. I. Ustvolskaya , in 1962 - the LGK named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov . He studied composition by V.N. Salmanov , V. Voloshinov and O.A. Yevlakhov . He studied with D. D. Shostakovich in graduate school (1965), subsequently dedicated to him Symphonies No. 3 and 5. As a pianist, he studied at the Conservatory under A. Logovinsky. Since 1965 he worked at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (since 1980 - associate professor, since 1986 - professor). He brought up a number of famous composers. He wrote works in various genres. Also the author of articles, reviews, brochures, annotations. In his work, he gravitated towards drama and epicity; most of his compositions were large-scale. Continued the traditions of D. D. Shostakovich's symphonism. Often, as a pianist, he performed his own compositions. Other interpreters of his music include M. Rostropovich , V. Liberman , I. Monighetti , V. Polyakov, S. Stadler .
December 9, 2010 B. Tishchenko died of cancer at the 72nd year of life. He was buried in St. Petersburg at the Volkovsky cemetery .
He was married to the organist and harpsichordist Anastasia Braudo (born 1942), the daughter of the organist Isaiah Braudo (son Dmitry), the singer Galina Miroshnichenko (son Vsevolod) and, during the last 33 years of her life, the harpist Irina Donskaya (son Andrei) [4] .
