“Lanfren-lanfra” (another name is “ Dove ”) is a song from the movie “ Midshipmen, Go! "( 1987 ), where it is performed by the cavalier de Brilli ( Mikhail Boyarsky ) [1] . According to him, in France, grooms sing this song to their brides. The author of the text, Yuri Ryashentsev , who had already received recognition as the author of the songs for the film " D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers " ( 1978 ), released a collection of poems under the same name.

Yuri Ryashentsev spoke about the “Dove” romance in an interview: “ It was written at the request of Misha Boyarsky. He wanted to play the last love of an aging d'Artagnan, to sing the farewell song of a musketeer who fell into Russian snow. And the famous "lanfren-lanfra" is a meaningless abracadabra, often used in old French songs. The same as “oh-lu-li” - in Russians ” [2] .
The refrain “Lanfren-lanfra” has no translation, but it does occur, for example, in the old French song “La belle” (“Beauty”), published for the first time in Paris in 1600 (reprinted in Rouen in 1602, Poitiers in 1607, etc. .) [3] [4]
On March 8, 2009, the song sounded on the air of radio stations not performed by Mikhail Boyarsky. For the first time in more than twenty years of song history, its authors, Viktor Lebedev and Yuri Ryashentsev , entrusted its performance to someone else. This performer was the young pop-singer R'n'B-singer Max Lawrence [5] . However, this version of the song did not enjoy significant success with the audience.
