Jezzar Pasha Mosque - (Arabic: جامع جزار باشا ), the mosque is located within the walls of the old city of Acre in northern Israel.
The Jezzar Pasha Mosque is an excellent example of Ottoman architecture, which included both Byzantine and Persian styles. Some of its beautiful features include a green dome and a minaret.
The mosque was designed by the Ottoman governor Acre, at the end of the 18th century, by Ahmed al-Jezzar Pasha (the Butcher), who was also known for his cruelty, impressive community service, and defeating Napoleon during the siege of Acre in 1799 . Pasha Jezzar ordered the construction of a mosque in 1781 and completed it within a year.
Adjacent to the mosque is the mausoleum and the small cemetery of the grave of Pasha Jezzar and his successor, Pasha Suleiman, and their relatives.
