In 1998, producers Charlie Gilet and Gordon Nelki suggested composer David Lowe (who works primarily for television, in particular with the BBC-News channel) to create a new project that combines jazz variations of popular tunes with minimal sampled vocals. David Lowe and trumpeter James Lynch recorded their first single Would You ...? . As a vocalist, model and actress Vanessa Lancaster was invited.
In October 1998, Would you ...? took third place in the British pop charts. The single gained great popularity in Europe, and then around the world, more than half a million copies were sold. After the single, Touch & Go's successful debut album “I Find You Very Attractive” was released, including hits by Straight To Number One , So Hot and Tango In Harlem . For remakes , tunes of such various artists as Louis Armstrong , Manu Chao and the rock groups The Champs were used .
Touch & Go music is used by brands such as Nokia , Apple , Carlsberg , Bacardi and others. It regularly sounds in various movie soundtracks. The team continues to remain popular, especially in Eastern Europe, where it still performs with concerts.
