Al-Istikam Mosque ( Malay. Masjid Al-Istiqamah , or Al-Istiqamah Mosque , Arabic. لمسجد الإستقامة ) - a mosque in Singapore, built in 1999. It is the only mosque in Singapore allocated by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS).
History
On August 12, 1992, land was purchased for its construction, but the estimated required amount of money SGD $ 700,000 was not collected, and even had to submit an advertisement to the newspaper.
Counting on the work of volunteers and contributions from the global Muslim community, the construction was begun only in March 1998. Al-Istikam Mosque was opened on June 11, 1999.
Architecture
The mosque is made in the most ordinary style for those places, virtually eliminating all the excesses.
