When submitting documents for entering the family in the Velvet book , the genealogical murals were provided: the Rimsky-Korsakovs (December 24, 1685), which (before 1677) were written by the Korsakovs and Jacob Korsakov (1686). The genealogical charters of Basil III on the parish were attached to the pedigrees: Courts in Beloozero (1499), Bokhtyug Vologda County (1503), Korban and Dvinnitsa Vologda County (1506-1508), half the income in Novgorod (1526-1529), on the city of Ustyug (1537–1538), the letter of Ivan IV: on the parish Vygoozero of Obezhskaya Pyatina (1553) and the case was attached to the petition of Nikita Rimsky-Korsakov on the introduction of his six sons who were not included in the genealogy, which by decree (July 14, 1693 ) were made [1] .
The genus Rimsky-Korsakov was included in the genealogical books of Kaluga [2] , Kursk, Moscow, Novgorod, Oryol, Smolensk, Tver, Kharkov, Ekaterinoslav and Tula provinces.

Genealogy
According to Kazimir Valishevsky , the Korsakovs lineage began with the words: “In order not to look too far, let us begin with Hercules ” [3] .
The common ancestor of all three genera, Zhigmunt (Sigismund) Korsak, a native Czech and a subject of the Holy Roman Empire (although later Russian pedigree legends call him a relative of Lithuanian princes), left for Lithuania under Grand Duke Vitovt . Of his three sons, Friedrich remained in Lithuania and became the ancestor of the Lithuanian Korsakov, and Wenceslaus and Miloslav in 1390 accompanied Grand Prince Vasily I's bride, Sophia Vitovtovna , to Moscow, where they remained, and the name of Miloslavsky and Wenceslaus - Korsakov came from Miloslav.
On May 15, 1677, 18 representatives of the Korsakov clan were given the right to be called the Rimsky-Korsakov, since their clan "perceived the beginning within the Roman" - that is, in the Czech Republic, which was part of the Holy Roman Empire [4] .
Jacob Nikitich Rimsky-Korsakov was the Koporsky commandant and Landrichter Ingermanland, then (1711) St. Petersburg Vice-Governor ; For various abuses, he was exiled in 1715, together with his brother Vasily, the former Belozersky commandant. Warrior Yakovlevich Rimsky-Korsakov was a vice-admiral (1702-1757). About Alexander Mikhailovich Rimsky-Korsakov, see acc. an article. Voin Andreevich (1822–1871, great-grandson of Voinov Yakovlevich) was the director of the marine corps, his brother Nikolay — a famous composer.
I. N. Rimsky-Korsakov (1754–1831), a favorite of Empress Catherine II , had an unlawful son from E. P. Stroganova , to whom Pavel I bestowed the nobility and the surname Ladomirsky .
