T-38 is a universal row-crop tracked tractor manufactured by the Lipetsk Tractor Plant from 1958 to 1973 (taking into account the modification of the T-38M). [one]
The tractor is designed for pre-sowing tillage , sowing , inter-row cultivation and harvesting of sugar beets , as well as for inter-row cultivation of other row crops and general agricultural work.
The T-38 tractor was produced from 1958 to 1961, a total of 26,300 tractors were produced [1] .
The tractor had several disadvantages: low diesel power - 40 l / s .
From 1961 to 1973, T-38M tractors were manufactured, in total 103,800 of them were produced [1] . On these tractors, engine power was increased to 50 l / s.
The T-38 tractor was used as a vehicle at the North Pole-13 drifting station .
The T-38 tractor is installed on pedestals:
