Laid down at the Bethlehem Steel Quincy December 31, 1941 . Serial number: 1518. Launched on June 15, 1942 , entered service on August 15, 1942 . It was withdrawn to the reserve on March 29, 1946 . Expelled from the U.S. Navy on June 1, 1971 . May 3, 1973 sunk as a target off the coast of Florida .
