Biography
Born on September 3, 1934. The first guitar lessons were given to him at the age of 6 by his mother Ella May King and Uncle Leon King. His first instrument was the acoustic Silverton , then the Kay guitar, and after buying the Gibson guitar , Freddie never played on anything else. King began with the performance of country blues , but soon, under the influence of the Chicago blues , he preferred electric guitars.
In December 1950, their family moved to Chicago , where a teenager got a job at a steel mill. But he never forgot music. “When I graduated from school, we left Texas; I was sixteen. We lived right outside the Zanzibar club, and I met Muddy Waters . I slipped through the back door - Muddy let me in - and sat by the stage listening. ”
