History
March 31, 2014 Jack Tretton resigns as president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America by a mutual decision between Tretton and Sony to renew the contract [1] . Tretton claims to have reached the peak of his 19-year career in the corporation with the launch of PlayStation 4 and now wants to be a free agent [2] (at the end of May 2014, Tretton is on the advisory board of Genotaur , a startup that develops AI for computer games, toys, robotics and learning [3] ).
How Sony Interactive Entertainment
On January 26, 2016, Sony announced [4] that from April 1, 2016, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment International will be reorganized and merged into the new Sony Interactive Entertainment. Unlike SCE, Sony Interactive Entertainment is based in San Mateo , California , and represents the entire PlayStation brand, regional affiliates, and content operations.
On March 24, 2016, Sony announced [5] the creation of ForwardWorks , a new studio designed to produce “full-fledged” games based on Sony's intellectual properties for mobile platforms such as smartphones.
