History
The regiment was formed on June 12, 1887 in the Caucasus from natives-Christians under the name of the 3rd Caucasian native cadre squad. On September 20, 1889 this squad was reorganized into two battalion Novobayazetsky reserve personnel infantry regiment . On November 17, 1891, a simple banner without an inscription was granted to the Novaya Bayazet regiment.
On October 24, 1894, the Novobayazetsky regiment was reorganized on a common basis with the rest of the reserve troops and was called the Novobayazetsky reserve infantry regiment. May 26, 1899 number 263 was added to the name of the regiment.
On December 30, 1908, the Novobayazetsky regiment, with the addition of four companies of the 2nd and four companies of the 3rd Warsaw Infantry Regiment, was reorganized into four battalions and was named the 263rd Infantry Novobayazetsky regiment. February 20, 1910 the number of the regiment was changed to 207.

Regimental Banner
On November 17, 1891, the regiment was granted the banner of the sample of 1883. The border is red, gold embroidery. The top of the sample is 1857, the shaft is black. On the front side of the banner is the icon βIntroduction to the Temple of the Blessed Virgin Maryβ.
