Henry Flood , Henry Flood ( born Henry Flood ; born 1732. Ireland - d. December 2, 1791 ) is an Irish politician from the time of English rule.

Biography
Born in an aristocratic family. In 1759 - 1790 he was a member of the Irish House of Commons and at the same time, from 1783 , he was a member of the English House of Commons. He was one of the leaders of the liberal opposition to the British colonial authorities. In 1775 - 1781 he held large posts in the English administration in Ireland .
In the context of the growth of the national liberation movement of the Irish, Flood, together with other figures of the Irish opposition, came out in the early 80s of the 18th century with a demand for a number of reforms, including the introduction of parliamentary autonomy of Ireland, carried out in 1782 - 1783 . Flood was also the author of the draft parliamentary reform of 1783. It provided for the expansion of suffrage for the population with the simultaneous elimination of “rotten places” . However, these benefits did not apply to Catholics .
