Biography
He made his debut in Flamengo on March 12, 1933, immediately becoming a player in the main squad. In his first season, he spent 26 matches, but that year was unsuccessful for the club, Fla took only 6th place in the Rio Championship, the club scored only 13 goals, 5 of which came from Roberto (4th place in Carioca). Next year the situation repeated, Roberto was Fla's top scorer, but the club did not shine, taking again 6th place. The following year, Flamengo interrupted a series of failures, winning bronze medals, but Roberto played only 2 matches that season, without scoring goals, because of football player Jarbas, ousting him from the base of Fla.
In 1936, annoyed at the lack of foundation, Roberto leaves for San Cristovao, where he spends 5 years and ends his career. In San Cristovao, he made his debut in the national team of Brazil, having entered the field on December 27, 1936 in a match with Peru in the America's Cup.
He was part of the team that went to the 1938 World Cup in France, where the Brazilians took 3rd place, which was Roberto's only achievement in his career, in that tournament he had two matches, in one of them, in a game with Czechoslovakia, he brought victory to the Brazilians with his blow 2: 1.
