Riegert, David Adamovich

David Adamovich Riegert ( March 12, 1947 , the village of Nagornoye , Kokchetav Oblast , Kazakh SSR , USSR ) - repeated champion of the world, Europe, USSR in weightlifting, champion of the Olympic Games (1976). At the 2004 Summer Olympics, he was the head coach of the Russian weightlifting team [1] . Honored Coach of Russia . Rudolf Pluckfelder's apprentice.

Biography

The ancestors of David Riegert came from Germany to Russia in 1740 [2] . At the beginning of World War II, the parents of Rigert, Adam Adamovich Rigert and Elizaveta Rudolfovna Gorn [3] , were deported to Northern Kazakhstan , where he was born. In 1964, the family returned to their former place of residence, in the Kuban . There, David Riegert picked up a makeshift barbell for the first time. After the army he moved to the Mines , purposefully, to train with the famous Rudolf Plukfelder , at his invitation [2] .

Member of the CPSU since 1977. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture (1978).

After completing his phenomenal sports career and coaching, David Riegert organized a farm near Taganrog [4] .
