Biography

Born in the village of Petrovskoye (now - Istra district of Moscow region ) in a working class family. Russian nationality.

Member of the CPSU (b) since 1931 . He worked at the Moscow factory "Explorer", then at the cloth factory. Since 1938 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Ugod-Zavodsky District Council of Workers' Deputies of the Moscow Region (now Zhukovsky District, Kaluga Region).

Member of World War II since October 1941 .

The commissar of the partisan detachment Mikhail Guryanov participated in the preparation and conduct of the operation to defeat the headquarters of the Wehrmacht army corps.

On the night of November 24, 1941 partisan groups led by Guryanov and Karasev surrounded the building of the former district executive committee and destroyed the Nazis who were in it.

When retreating near the village of Ryzhkovo, now Zhukovsky District, Kaluga Region, Guryanov was ambushed, wounded and captured by punishers. Enemies tortured the partisan commissar, but, not having obtained information, on November 27, 1941 they hanged him.

He was buried in the village of Ugodsky Zavod (since 1997 - the city of Zhukov, Kaluga region), where a bust of the Hero and a memorial plaque were installed.

Rewards

  • By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 16, 1942, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, the commissar of the partisan detachment Mikhail Alekseevich Guryanov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
  • He was awarded the Order of Lenin , the Order of the Red Banner , and a medal.
