Biography
Cliff Robertson was born on September 9, 1923 in the San Diego area of La Jolla , California [2] , in the family of Audrey Robertson and Clifford Parker Robertson.
He studied at the college of and worked for a short time as a journalist [3] .
In 1969 he received the Academy Award in the nomination for Best Actor for the role of Charlie Gordon in the film Charlie.
He was a jury member at the 39th Berlin International Film Festival [4] .
He died on September 10, 2011 at his home in New York , a day after his 88th birthday. [5]
Personal life
In 1957, Cliff Robertson married the ex-wife of actor Jack Lemmon , Cynthia Stone. Robertson has a daughter from this marriage. They divorced in 1960.
In 1966, Robertson married Dina Marill , from whom he also had a daughter, Heather (died of cancer in 2007) [6] . They divorced in 1986.
The hobby of the actor is aviation. Robertson owned the De Havilland Tiger Moth biplane , the Messerschmitt Bf.108 Taifun monoplane, and the Supermarine Spitfire fighter . [7]
