History
The village was first mentioned in scribe books of 1629-30 among the estates of Ivan Nikitich Romanov , it had 22 peasant yards and 9 empty ones. In the salary books of 1676, the village was part of the Arefinsky parish , it had 14 peasant households and 1 Bobylsky [3] .
In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village was part of the Arefinsky volost of the Murom district of Vladimir province . In 1859 [4] there were 48 yards in the village, in 1905 [5] - 59 yards, in 1926 [6] - 93 yards.
Since 1929, the village was the center of the Verkhopolsky village council of the Vachsky district of the Gorky region , since 1931 - as part of the Belavinsky village council , since 1936 - as a part of the Gorky region , since 1954 - as part of the Arefinsky village council .
