Edmond Jouhaud ( French Edmond Jouhaud ) is a French general, one of the four generals who participated in the Algerian putsch, also known as the “ General Coup ”. Born in Algeria , in the town of Boufer, near Oran, in a family of descendants of emigrants from Alsace who settled in Algeria in 1848. After the failure of the putsch in 1961, he moved to an illegal position and became deputy head of the SLA Raul Salan . March 25, 1962 he was arrested and sentenced by the tribunal to death, but was pardoned by President de Gaulle . In 1968 he was released under an amnesty.
