Branic Park ( Branitzer Park ) is a landscaped park in the Branitz area of Cottbus .

The territory of the park passed into the possession of Count Pückler in 1696 . The park was founded in 1845 , when German von Pückler-Muskau moved from his castle with a magnificent park to Bad Muskau to Branitz due to financial problems. In Branice, Pückler also decided to create an English-style landscape park .
There are several zones in the park. The Inner Park occupies more than 100 hectares and includes farm buildings and gardening. The territory of the “external park” is about 600 hectares and includes the fields surrounding the “internal park”. Around the palace, the prince broke flower beds, installed sculptures and planted ornamental trees.
The park is permeated by a skillfully equipped system of reservoirs with canals , ponds and lakes , replenished with groundwater and water from the nearby Spree . Soil from reservoirs was used to model the terrain, where hills and lowlands appeared.
The attraction of the park are the pyramids . The larger "pyramid on the water" , built in 1856-1857, is an artificial island on the lake. Inside it are the graves of Pückler and his wife Lucia von Pükler-Muskau. From the southeastern side of the lake there is a “pyramid on land” , built by ledges.
An exhibition of works by the landscape artist Cottbus, landscape painter Karl Blechen, is open in the Branitz Palace.
