Mac OS X 10.0 ( codenamed Cheetah - Cheetah) is the first major release of Apple Mac OS X on user and server operating systems. Mac OS 10.0 was introduced on March 24, 2001. In the United States, the price of the product was $ 29.95. Cheetah replaced the Mac OS X Public Beta . Mac OS X 10.0 made a radical departure from previous "classic" Macintosh operating systems.

System Requirements
- Supported computers: Power Macintosh G3, G3 B&W, G4, G4 Cube, iMac, PowerBook G3, PowerBook G4, iBook (The original “Kanga” PowerBook G3 was the only G3-based Mac that was not supported by Mac OS X).
- Required RAM: 128 MB (unofficially minimum 64 MB)
- Hard disk space: 1.5 GB (800 MB for minimal installation)
The system requirements of Mac OS X 10.0 were criticized because at that time the standard memory capacity for Macintosh computers was 64 MB RAM, while Mac OS X 10.0 required 128 MB RAM. Also, processor upgrade cards, which were very popular for legacy pre-G3 Power Macintosh computers, were not supported (but it is possible to get them working through third-party utilities). [one]
