Group History
Autumn began in 1993 in Yekaterinburg (Russia). The idea of creating the group belonged to Yuri "Rotor" - the former guitarist of "Russian Winter" and a member of the first line-up of the band "Thy Repentance" and Sergey Berdyshev - a drummer who was familiar to Rottor by his joint participation in school and student groups. At that time, Sergey collaborated with the Aleteya group, which at the very beginning of its development experimented in the field of Death Metal. It was in this group that the second guitarist Sergey "Raven" was found.
All three were united by an interest in new, for that time, music - Doom, a general predisposition to melancholy and rejection of all fuss and haste.
The group began to rehearse.
A little later, keyboardist and vocalist Svetlana Polezhaeva Slavyana joined the group. Then, having exchanged several accustomed bass players, the “autumn people” remembered a certain person who had played with them in a school group named Felix Vigorov.
Thus ended the formation of the first composition of Autumn.
In 1995, at one of the small rehearsal studios, the group recorded their first demo, “The Druid Autumn,” consisting of three tracks in English. Undead wood is distributing the demo and it has received good reviews in several underground print media.
In 1997, Pinoccio Records recorded the first full-fledged 60-minute demo album of ... And We Are Falling Leaves. All texts are still in English.
After the release of the album, the group undergoes large personnel shifts. With the new line-up, the group prepares and releases in 2000 the second album - “Black Wings”, recorded, as before, at the Pinoccio Records studio. This time all the songs, except one, in their native Russian language. Avoiding English is connected with the desire to express our thoughts more freely and deeply. From this moment on, “Autumn” finally switches to the native language. The album comes out in small prints and quickly distributed through local stores and the newsletter.
According to the already established tradition, after the release of the album, changes in the composition of the group occur. The guitarist changes, the keyboard player leaves, but a new instrument appears - the viola and viola player Lyudmila Emelyashina, whose arrival greatly changes and enriches the sound of the group. At the beginning of 2003 the recording of the last album of the group - “Autumn is Eternal” ends. Due to the dissatisfaction of the musicians with the sound of previous albums, recording, as an experiment, is carried out in two ways. Recording of drums, mixing and mastering are done in the local studio “AV - misic”, and the rest of the work on recording the album is done independently at home. The result of the experiment is surprisingly positive. The sound is much closer to what you want than before. The publisher for the album is Stygian Crypt Productions. In June 2003, AUTUMN's album “Autumn is Eternal” comes out with a circulation of 1000 copies. ... and becomes the band's farewell album.
At the same time, the group officially ceases to exist.
Later, all the albums of the group were re-released on Stygian Crypt Productions in 2005 - 2006 .
