History

In 1996, a team that did not represent official football structures participated in the unofficial world championship. The team included Vagiz Khidiyatullin , Nikolai Vasilyev , Renat Ataullin , Andrey Yakubik , Andrey Kalaychev , goalkeeper Vyacheslav Chanov . In 2007, the Russian team in its first appearance in the European Beach Soccer League ( EBSL ) took bronze and thereby earned a ticket to the 2007 World Cup . At the debut World Cup, the Russian team took 3rd place in the group and 9th place. In 2008, the Russian team again won bronze in the European League (EBSL), and took 6th place at the World Championships. In addition, at the World Championships, the Russian national team also received the Fair Play prize for fair play.

In 2010, the Russian national beach soccer team in the final match of the European Cup defeated the Portuguese team with a score of 6: 4 and for the first time in its history won the Cup. Having beaten the Spanish team with a score of 8: 4 in the quarter finals of the qualifying tournament for the World Cup, the team earned a ticket to the 2011 World Cup .
