- April 6th
- The United States announced plans to create a mega-center for the production of nuclear weapons by 2015 , capable of producing up to 125 nuclear warheads per year [1] .
- In Moscow, the sectarian Grigory Grabovoi was detained. He is known in connection with the events in Beslan. Then Grabovoi declared himself the messiah and offered to resurrect the dead children for money . His actions are regarded as fraud , as he collected money, but did not complete the “work” [1] .
- April 8 - landing of the Soyuz TMA-7 spacecraft . The landing crew is V.I. Tokarev , W. MacArthur ( USA ) and M. Pontis ( Brazil ).
- April 9 - The 1st round of parliamentary elections in Hungary.
- April 9 - 10 - Parliamentary elections in Italy . The victory was won by the Union (49.81%) and the Freedom House (49.74%) parties.
- April 10 - the scandalous law on employment was repealed in France. French President Jacques Chirac, under pressure from students and trade union movements, agreed to replace the adopted wording of the “first-employment contract” with another bill.
- April 14 - The State Duma adopted in its third final reading the Federal Law “On the Honorary Title of the Russian Federation“ City of Military Glory “”.
- April 21 - 23 - earthquakes in Kamchatka.
- April 23 - The 2nd round of parliamentary elections in Hungary, the Social Democrats of Ferenc Gyurcsany remained in power.
- April 25 - Iran announced its readiness to make nuclear technology available to other countries [1] .
- April 27 - Asteroid 2006 HZ 51 was discovered.
- April 30 - For the first time in 35 years, CSKA Basketball Club became the strongest in Europe.
